MC12G and MC12T are highly integrated dual-channel capacitive sensor chips. The chip measures single-end ground-to-ground capacitor, directly connected with the measured capacitive plate, and measures the change of small capacitance through VHF resonant excitation and calculation. The excitation frequency is configurable in the range of 10 to 100 MHz, and its frequency measurement output is 16bit digital signal, corresponding to the highest resolution of 0.5ff. The chip adopts full digital design, function configuration and data reading and write support I2C communication rate of up to 1 MHz; built-in low noise power management module LDO can wide input voltage range. In addition, the chip integrates a temperature sensing circuit that can be used for temperature compensation and other temperature sensing scenarios.
Capacacitive sensing realizes dielectric detection of different substances by cooperating with detection electrodes. It is a non-contact detection technology with low power consumption, low cost and high resolution. Compared with the traditional RC oscillation touch capacitor structure, MC12G and MC12T adopt the LC resonance method of VHF, which makes the electric field strength penetration better. The frequency calculation of the chip is fully digital output through the internal digital signal processing unit, and a variety of working modes can be flexibly configured. MC12T, with a streamlined SOP8 pin, can be used for low-cost dual-channel capacitance detection. MC12G, for the small volume of QFN16 packaging, provides a more comprehensive internal control of the chip.
Compared with similar products at home and abroad, MC12G and MC12T have wider capacitance excitation frequency, farther non-contact measurement performance, wider, working voltage range, more flexible reference frequency and working mode configuration. The chip has a temperature sensing signal for temperature compensation, and the independent dual-channel measurement circuit can compensate for each other, and can also be configured with automatic alarm logic. Small size, low-cost chips can be widely used in intelligent home appliance liquid level, proximity, touch control and other scenarios, can also be used for automotive oil, water sensing, food detection, soil moisture content and other industrial special testing scenarios.
