The partnership stems from the urgent demand for AI transformation in manufacturing. Today's manufacturing sector is undergoing a fundamental shift from traditional production models toward digitalized, intelligent manufacturing paradigms. Artificial intelligence, as one of the core technologies driving this transformation, demonstrates enormous potential in optimizing production processes, enhancing product quality, and reducing operational costs. However, deep AI integration in manufacturing faces numerous challenges, including the complexity of industrial data, the compatibility between AI models and industrial scenarios, and system integration difficulties.
Siemens, as a global leader in industrial automation, possesses comprehensive automation solutions spanning the entire manufacturing process and extensive industrial scenario expertise. NVIDIA stands as the benchmark enterprise in AI computing, with its GPU chips and AI software stack holding dominant positions in global AI training and inference.
The collaboration between these two powerhouses is founded on their profound understanding of manufacturing's AI transformation needs, aimed at providing more comprehensive industrial AI enablement solutions through complementary advantages.
The partnership between the two companies can be traced back to 2022, when they first combined Siemens Xcelerator portfolio technologies with NVIDIA's Omniverse™ platform to create an industrial metaverse. This enabled digital optimization of performance, enhanced productivity, and achievement of sustainability goals. Since then, their collaboration scope has continuously expanded, encompassing generative AI, industrial AI, and robotics technology.

Siemens has integrated NVIDIA technology throughout the entire Siemens Xcelerator platform. Teamcenter Digital Reality Viewer (the first integration of Siemens Xcelerator with NVIDIA Omniverse technology) was released earlier this year, representing a major leap in product lifecycle management visualization. It brings real-time ray tracing capabilities directly into Teamcenter, enabling enterprises to seamlessly visualize and interact with realistic, physics-based digital twins of their products, facilitating faster and more informed decision-making.
According to reports, one of the world's largest shipbuilders, HD Hyundai, is utilizing this capability to visualize next-generation hydrogen-powered and ammonia-powered vessels—managing millions of components in real-time while leveraging generative AI to reduce design iteration time from days to hours.
Additionally, by combining NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs with Siemens computational fluid dynamics software, Simcenter Star-CCM+ customers can conduct virtual product simulation and testing at significantly enhanced speeds.
For example, BMW Group and Siemens, utilizing Simcenter Star-CCM+ software accelerated by NVIDIA Blackwell and NVIDIA CUDA-X™ libraries, achieved a 30-fold speed improvement in full-vehicle geometry transient aerodynamic simulations, thereby accelerating vehicle aerodynamic simulation while reducing energy consumption and costs.
NVIDIA Founder and CEO Jensen Huang stated: "Modern manufacturing faces increasing pressure to improve efficiency, enhance quality, and rapidly adapt to ever-changing market demands. Our collaboration with Siemens will bring NVIDIA AI and accelerated computing to leading global enterprises and open new opportunities for the next wave of industrial AI."
Siemens AG President and CEO Roland Busch remarked: "Artificial intelligence is fundamentally transforming manufacturing and infrastructure. Over the past three years, we have collaborated closely to combine AI models and high-performance computing with industrial data and domain expertise. Together, Siemens and NVIDIA are empowering enterprises across industries to unleash AI's real-world scalable impact."
The powerful combination of Siemens and NVIDIA technologies will empower industrial companies to leverage comprehensive AI-powered technologies for next-generation factory automation—spanning every stage from product design to execution. This enables enterprises to make more confident decisions using real-time data-driven insights, enhance operational efficiency, and improve collaboration.
Perhaps this represents the embryonic form of next-generation industrial automation.
It's foreseeable that with the joint efforts of Siemens and NVIDIA, AI technology will deliver greater value in manufacturing, helping enterprises achieve revolutionary transformation in production models and injecting robust momentum into the intelligent transformation of global manufacturing. This collaboration represents not only a strategic choice by two technology giants but also a significant milestone for manufacturing's journey into the intelligent era, propelling industrial AI development into a new chapter.
