Concept Laser reports revenue growth in the first half of 2015

Lichtenfels, Germany - The continued rising acceptance of additive manufacturing in the markets and the attractiveness of laser melting systems from Concept Laser are reflected in growth figures. In the first six months of 2015, orders were placed for 68 machines, while in 2014, the company received orders for 45 machines during that year's same period—this equates to 51% growth compared to last year. Also, revenue as of June 30, 2015 was 35% higher than in the same period of the previous year. Revenue growth was solely because of sales of large-scale systems in the 1000W laser class, and demand from the aerospace industry in the US.

All signs on the global markets indicate that the trend in additive manufacturing set in the first six months will continue in the second half of the year. Following sales of 110 systems in the previous year, the company expects this figure to reach more than 150 machines by the end of this year. Revenue growth is forecast to remain at 35% for the entire 2015 financial year.

The new manufacturing facility, with 3500m2 of floor space, was already running at full capacity in the first half of 2015. It increases the company's system production capacity by a factor of 2.5. The logistics center, which is also new, pulls the strings for global logistics management in a 1000m2 facility. Overall, the company is also structurally ideally prepared for continued growth, and will make further investments in its infrastructure in future.
